This Ain’t For You… Move Along!

101 degrees

As most of you know, Cadence has had a cold for going on two weeks now. Each and every time I called the doctor, they didn’t really seem concerned. They prescribed the use of a humidifier and an aspirator and basically told me to let the cold play it’s course. “It’ll go away” they said and they only wanted to see her “if it got worse.”

Maybe I was being a worry wort calling as much as I did and worrying as much as I did for something as simple as a cold. Frantic First time Mom, right?

Wrong.

Sunday night Cadence threw up her meal and felt a bit warm. I took her temperature and it was 101.9. I thought it would be a good idea to take her down to Urgent Care (a facility similar to an ER for patients within a certain medical group).  The waiting area was PACKED with people coughing, sneezing and bleeding- great, that’s all we need I thought. Little did I know that we would be waiting for a disturbingly long time. So, I kept my Twitter people updated while I waited.

After waiting for probably 3 hours, we saw the very smug, matter-of-fact, “I’ve got better shit to do” Doctor who basically told us “it’s probably  just a virus” and sent us home.

Okay, so we’re home with a baby who’s got a 101 degree fever, who is vomiting up at every turn and the only medical advice given was to keep her hydrated- no fucking duh Doctor Dick. I could have told myself that. Thanks for everything.
