I have been wearing glasses since high school.

And really, it was inevitable. Here’s the family lineup:

- Mother (I think she has tri-focals)
- Older Brother
- Older Sister (pretends she doesn’t need them, but she’s blind as ever)
- Maternal Grandmother, Great-Grandmother & 3 Aunts
- Paternal Grandmother & Grandfather

And I’m sure there’s more.

You should see my older sister squinting to see everything. It’s a family joke. That girl is blind. Get some glasses Nickie.

I went for my eye check-up yesterday because my eyes have been getting worse. Now, when I take off my glasses, almost everything is blurry. I know that I have a slight astigmatism in my right eye… but I also found out yesterday that I am nearsighted in my right eye and farsighted in my left eye. The Doc says that’s unusual (I like to be different).

Hubby has been trying to convince me for some time to get contacts, so I took his advice and I feel like I am living on a different planet. I can SEE you- not that I couldn’t see you before, but now, I can really see you. The Doc says I may be able to see better because when you are wearing your glasses, your peripheral vision is limited due to the frames, but with contacts, you can see it all.
