Stupid Personal Fact

I follow Taye Diggs on Twitter (and Facebook- cause I love him, I love Private Practice I love his wife and I love RENT) and he always gives stupid personal facts. And because I’m having blogger’s block today, I think I’ll end 2010 with a post full of stupid personal facts. (I asked people online to ask me questions, so below are the answers to questions I received)

My favorite thing to eat as leftovers is a tie between spaghetti & meatballs and baked macaroni & cheese.

When I reheat baked macaroni & cheese? I have to reheat it in the toaster oven to give it that crisp, just out of the oven taste.

I get super nervous when I drive under an overpass- every time, doesn’t matter how many times I do it. My heart always skips a beat.

I have a love of even numbers. Odd numbers just won’t do.

My favorite ice cream flavor is vanilla. And really? It’s probably the only type of ice cream I’ll eat- just different variations- french vanilla, vanilla bean- but only vanilla.

I am largely addicted to Pepsi. I will drink Coke as a substitute, but I have to really want caffeine. Pepsi is way better than Coke to me, hands down. Though I will say that Coke stays fizzy longer. I left a Coke on my desk at work for 4 days and drank it and it was still bubbly… Pepsi gets flat faster, but tastes so. much. better.

Would I ever drive a minivan? Hell no I would never drive a minivan- ever. You couldn’t pay me to drive one. That’s Mommy suicide to me. I don’t care if I had 8 kids, I’d drive an old school bus before I drove a minivan…. or I’d go broke buying a Tahoe or Suburban. Just sayin’.

If I could only eat one food for the rest of my life? It would probably be french fries. (Would I die of a clogged artery?) I love french fries (BTW McDonald’s has the BEST fries, hands down) I eat fries almost everywhere I go, all of the time.

Who else has good fries? Red Robin- steak fries that are yum, yum. Wendy’s. Outback Steakhouse has amazing cheese fries- and be sure to dip ‘em in ranch dressing (hold the bacon, though).

Who was my best friend growing up and do I still speak to them? My best friend since I was 7′s name is Shawnique. We had a slight hiatus, but yes, I still speak to her. And she’s still awesome.

Why is my name Dawana? I have no damn clue. Maybe because my daddy’s name is Dwayne. But I could be wrong. I never asked. But I love my name- I’ve never met another Dawana (knock on wood), though I have seen variations of my name on shows like Jerry and Maury (God help me).

People almost always mispronounce and misspell my name. It’s a little annoying- my name is spelled and pronounced in a phonetic manner (duh-wah-nuh) I mean come on…

My favorite pizza delivery place is Domino’s- I especially love their chicken kickers dipped in blue cheese and their cheesy bread. Then Pizza Hut, then Poppa John’s. I hate that Poppa Johns always gives you a green pepper in the box- what the hell am I gonna do with that?

I almost never paint my fingernails… I think the last time I painted them was June 2, 2007- my wedding day. I got a french manicure.

My toes? I paint often. Black. Only black. That’s the only color I can stand to see on them besides a french pedicure, which I obviously need to go to a salon to get done. My husband says the black is very “goth” of me, I think it’s sexy. Right now? My toes are more of a chipped black color… meaning it’s time for a pedicure.

My most humiliating experience? Hmm first thing that comes to mind is a party that I was at with my girls in college- we went to school in Vermont up near Montreal (so it was basically a frozen tundra in the winters). I slipped and fell on ice outside the party (of course lots of people were outside) and I fell in someone’s vomit… Awesome.

What side of the bed do I sleep on? I sleep on the right side of the bed. I don’t know why- just do. I sleep on my stomach and I like to suffocate myself and cover my head with sheets.

I think the most famous person I’ve ever met and actually had a conversation with is Gene Simmon’s significant other- Shannon Tweed. But, I used to work at the FYE in Rockefeller Center in Manhattan- and they’d have album signings there. I met Aaliyah when she was still alive- that was cool.

Someone I met in 2010 that changed my life? I don’t know if I met anyone that changed my life, but I did make a friend via Twitter that I got to meet in real life, Erin, and she has definitely enhanced my life. I thought I had my fill of sarcasm, but oh no- Erin brings bossiness, sarcasm, realism… did I say bossiness? (This is what I love most about her) She’s a great girl- we went to see GLEE live, we got pedicures, shopped… she’s like a sister/mother (cause she’s bossy) and friend all in one. I look forward to what 2011 will bring for our friendship.

My favorite color is blue- hands down. Then black, then gray.

My favorite drink? Is the one that I can’t remember the next morning. Heh heh No, I love Amaretto Sours, I love screwdrivers, I love champagne, I’ll take a shot of Petron or a Bud Light or a Coors Light. Oh, and I love wine- mostly White Zin, though Barefoot Wine makes this Moscato that is to DIE for. Also? I just discovered this margarita/sangria mix at On The Border (Mexican restaurant) so. good- try it.

…Sooo maybe I don’t have a “favorite” drink. I can tell you what I don’t fuck with though- Southern Comfort? **Cough** Gag** Oh and Raspberry flavored Smirnoff? Ugh horrible memories from freshman year with that crap.

There you have it folks, my last post of 2010. Let’s hope 2011 rocks our socks off, cause really? 2010 can burn in hell. Though there were good moments, there were clearly not enough for me.
