Have you heard of it? (please sense my sarcasm)
She has truly given up PBS Kids for Nick Jr.
And, you know what, I guess I can see why. There are some great shows there.
Olivia- we love.
Max & Ruby… I don’t get her love for this show.
Dora- who doesn’t love Dora?
Ni Hao Kai Lan
The Fresh Beat Band- Oh my dear God… I hum songs from this show at 6 am when I’m alone in my kitchen. This. is a problem.
Backyardigans- super cute. We love the singing, though I’m a little confused as to why there is a character named Uniqua… A cartoon character with a ghetto name? Hmmm
But…
There is one show…
That she cannot. live. without.
Yo Gabba Gabba.
The second she gets in the car from daycare, “Yo Gabba Gabba Mommeeee”

My first thought? What the hell is a Yo Gabba Gabba.
I mean, there’s this dude in a bizarre ass outfit with a fuzzy hat walking around with little monster toys? statues? figurines? (I’m not sure what to call them) in his boom box looking storage case for them.
When he takes them out to play, he puts them on a sort of stage/play area and wait for it…
Yo Gabba Gabba?
Oh those are the magic words, friends, that will bring the monsters to life.
But then… like a drug, Yo Gabba Gabba pulls you in.
It helps that familiar faces like The Roots, Leila Ali, Biz Markie and that dude from Lord of the Rings grace the screens with the Monsters to sing and dance.
BUT, the songs are just uber catchy. You can’t help but sing them. Yo Gabba Gabba turns every living situation into a song.
Exhibit A: “Don’t bite your friends… don’t bite your friends.”
Exhibit B: “You’ve got to wait in line… it’s only fair… wait right there“
If your child is doing something you can’t stand- Yo Gabba Gabba has now taught me to sing it out with them. I can see myself:
“It’s tiiiiime to go to beeeeed. Please stop running in circles around the sofaaaaaa. Mommy is going crazyyyyy and may rip her hair out cauuuuuuse it’s 9:30 and you’re still awaaaaake.”
No?
That song isn’t gonna catch on? Darn it all.
Anyway.
Yo Gabba Gabba… yeah. Pea loves it.
Watch the insanity that ensues when the show starts:
And check out her dance moves during “Dancy-Dance time:”

That’s so funny! Your child seriously danced herself dizzy! Love it!
We do NOT do Yo Gabba Gabba in this house. It’s way too creepy.. but K does love her some Fresh Beat Band! (And I do find myself singing along too sometimes… *sigh*
Crissy´s last [type] ..Work in Progress
LOL It’s a little disturbing when at 6 am I’m thinking “Dance & move, to a song, join band and play alooooooooooooooooong. Get the beat, Fresh Beat…. la la la la la la la” LMFAO
Totally agree!
love your blog, New follower!

Thanks Megan. Welcome aboard!
I feel you about this show. I got into the songs also because your nephew watches it. He knows the music and swings his head to watch, and is glued to the tv. I guess it replaces Barney back in the days, since it actually teaches them things.
