Lost and Found

I haven’t been nesting much lately because I’ve been very, very busy at work. Report cards are due, IEP, RTI and ELD meetings are being had. Progress monitoring needs to be logged. Reports need to be created and parent-teacher conferences are in two weeks.

I don’t have time for a lot of things.

This weekend, though, I felt like I needed to do some things for him.

I decided to take down Pea’s high chair and since it’s a 4-in-1, turn it into an infant swing & chair for the little guy.

Once that was done, I was on a mission to find my breast pump. I had no idea where it was… we moved into this house two years ago, but it’s gotta be here somewhere. I knew that I wasn’t stupid enough to sell an almost $300 machine. My guess was that it was in the garage or in the crawl space with the rest of our boxes. We looked and couldn’t find it and we checked all closets in the house- what the what?

I sent the husband back into the crawl space because it had to be there. Sure enough, there was a box tucked away down there taped shut that said “Stuff for a New Baby.” Who’s the smartest wife in the world? Me.

I didn’t even remember that I put it in a box, nor did I remember that I labeled a box anything like that but I did.

Found: Breast pump. 2 pairs of Air Jordans that Pea had worn around the age of 1 that her Auntie sent her. 1 blow up duck tub that she used when she grew out of her infant tub. 1 sanitizer machine thingy for bottles aaaand breast milk bags.

Boom.

Nesting is like going to a lost and found. I didn’t even remember that I kept half of that stuf (or that I even had it in the first place). So now I’ve got goodies that I can use with him.

I’d call that a productive day.
