Here I Go Again Y’all

Here I Go Again

I love me a good fiction book y’all. Now, I haven’t read anything of Jen Lancaster’s before, but the plot really sucked me in.

What does happen to the mean girl from high school?

What’s interesting is, I hung out with the popular clique in high school and this book truly had me asking myself “Was I a mean girl?” I’d like to say no, because the things that Lissy was doing to her peers? I didn’t take it that far.

I fell in love with her character the minute I started reading the book. The divorce, her life falling apart, moving back in with mom and dad and then **poof** a return to high school to right her wrongs and gain some perspective. Lissy is in complete denial until life smacks her in the face and says “what up, chick?!”

At first I thought “This is not going to work” (he whole going back in time thing), but really, it sucked me in and had me thirsty for more. I was absolutely obsessed with Lissy and what was going to happen next.

The descriptions were so vivid- the clothes, the hair, the music, the references (cassette players- come on, our kids won’t even know what a cassette is!). I loved it.

Join myself and others as we discuss this book over at the BlogHer Book Club. Let’s go back to high school together.

I was paid money and sent a free book by BlogHer Book Club to facilitate this post, but the opinions expressed here are my own.
