Something that you may not know about the husband and I is that we were frequent Outback Steakhouse visitors in Saint Petersburg, Florida. When I say frequent, it was like watching Cheers. Everyone behind the bar knew our name and they knew what we wanted to eat and drink (Michelob Ultra draft for him, Wallaby Darned for me). More than anything, though, they knew that I wanted a 1/2 order of cheese fries (86 the bacon). So when I found this recipe on Pinterest, I knew I had to try it.
Cheese Fries at home? Yes, Please.
What really made me try this recipe was the sour cream/ranch dressing she included with the fries. MMmmMmmMmmMM
I altered the original recipe in the following ways:
She cut her fries straight from the potato, y’all know that I’m a shortcut cooker and so there’s no way I was doing that. I skipped my happy but over to King Soopers and bought a bag of frozen fries (King Soopers brand was on sale, too. Holla!) I wanted to get steak fries like the ones used in the original recipe, but my husband insisted on seasoned fries… pick your battles, folks. Seasoned fries it is.
Since we bought seasoned fries, we didn’t need the olive oil. When I win the french fry battle and get to use steak fries, though, I’ll use the olive oil. I also nixed the toppings- we don’t do bacon in this house, so… anyway, let’s cook.
Here’s what you’ll need for the fries:

Cheesy Potato Fries
| Allergy | Milk |
| Meal type | Appetizer, Side Dish, Snack |
| Misc | Serve Hot |
| Website | Oh So Delicioso! |
Ingredients
- 1 bag Your Favorite Frozen French Fries (Steak Fries or Seasoned Fries work Well)
- 1/4 cup Olive Oil ((Use if you do not buy steak fries))
- Salt, Pepper and/or Your Favorite Seasoning Salt
- 1 cup Sour Cream
- 1/2 cup Ranch Dressing
- 1/4 cup Milk
- 1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese ((Or, use as much as you'd like))
- 1/2 cup Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
- 1/2 cup Bacon Bits ((Or not... We didn't use them))
- 1/4 cup Green Onions ((Or not... We didn't use them))
Directions
I made these with the baked parmesan paprika chicken. Yum.

The husband would have preferred the ranch sauce on the side. I? Loved it already on it, but that can be remedied by doing 1/2 on, 1/2 off.
Overall? Delicious.
Enjoy!
